Ballet Virginia International debuts its performing company November
27-30 with Snow White. This talented young company
will show their skill and grace as they bring this enchanted fairy tale
to the Sandler Center for the young and young at heart. Bove and Long,
the choreographer and directing team, has deep experience in bringing
quality ballet to Hampton Roads. Guest artists Lydia Coco formerly with
Alvin Ailey American Dance Center and Helen Watson formerly with
Virginia Ballet Theatre will accompany the performing company with their
usual flair of mischief and intrigue.
Ballet Virginia International’s state of the art facility and seasoned
faculty bring a new era of ballet to Hampton Roads. Opening its new hub
September 2, 2008, Ballet Virginia International will offer its students
a home for professional training. Our faculty
will train its gifted students in four studios including a full size
stage rehearsal studio that will rival some biggest ballet companies in
terms of size and quality.
The mission of Ballet Virginia International is to passionately teach
pre-professional dance education and to create magical, innovative
performances that showcase Ballet Virginia International’s performing
company for the community to enjoy. Our faculty has sent over 100
dancers onto professional dance careers. Many more have left with a life
long love of dance in their hearts. Ballet Virginia International’s
faculty is truly an extraordinary team.
