Academy Year Information
Schedules and Registration for the Academy Year are online. Make sure you follow the dress code and read our academy policies before coming to class.
Lower School is the beginning of our professional program. Classes are offered at both our Norfolk and Virginia Beach locations. Students in this program generally range in age from seven to fifteen. Dancers must be committed and possess the physical requirements needed to facilitate classical ballet movement.
Beginning in Level 3, students must train year round. These levels are a progressive course of study designed to train technically strong and artistically expressive classically trained dancers. Electives available include modern, contemporary, musical theater, tap and jazz.
A free placement class is required prior to registration in Lower School.
These class levels are a way of grouping students into classes that best meet their individual needs. Considerations for level placement include physical strength, mind/body connection, flexibility and maturity. Lower school is designed for the committed dancer from approximately ages seven to fifteen.
