Lower School

Academy Year 2020-2021

Schedules and Registration for the new school year are online! We are planning to have all levels in-person. Make sure you follow the dress code and read our COVID-19 Guidelines before coming to class.

Ballet Virginia’s Lower School is the beginning of our professional program. Classes are offered at both our Norfolk and Virginia Beach locations. Students in this program generally range in age from seven to fourteen. Dancers must be committed and possess the physical requirements needed to facilitate classical ballet movement. Beginning in level 3, they must train year round, including a pre-approved summer study program or continue their training with Ballet Virginia’s Summer Programs. These levels are a progressive course of study designed to train technically strong and artistically expressive classically trained dancers. Electives available include modern, contemporary, musical theater, tap, hip hop and character.
