BVII – Ballet Virginia Second Company
The Ballet Virginia Second Company (BVII) is the final tier of the professional training program. Acceptance into the Second Company is by audition only. Dancers receive up to 23 hours per week of concentrated training that includes ballet technique, modern, contemporary, pointe, partnering, and variations classes as well as rehearsals. Guest teachers are brought in to create versatile classical ballet dancers.
BVII dancers are the corps de ballet for all professional productions. These talented young dancers often progress to the soloist levels in productions which gives them the experience needed for a professional career. This program is designed for serious dancers from ages 14 to 20 whose goals include a professional career in dance or acceptance to a major college or university dance program.
