Rebecca Ailstock was born and raised in Virginia Beach and started her ballet training at four years old at a local recreation center. At eight years old, she started her professional training with Ballet Virginia under the direction of Suzanne Lownsbury, Janina Michalski, as well as faculty including Lydia Roberts Coco, and Patrica Sorrell.
Upon her high school graduation, Rebecca continued her education at The University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with a concentration in ballet. During her time in the school, she trained under the instruction of Susan Jaffe, as well as faculty including Jared Redick, Jennet Zerbe, Laura Martin, Eva Draw, Dayna Fox, Misha Tchoupakov, Ilya Kozadayev, and Angelina Sansone. Her repertoire includes roles in George Balanchine’s Concerto Barrocco, Ethan Stiefel’s The Nutcracker, Goyo Montero’s Alrededor No Hay Nada, Larry Keigwin’s The Kingdom, Susan Jaffe’s, Carmina Burana and other productions.
After graduation, Rebecca joined Virginia National Ballet Theatre for one season, then joined Ballet Virginia for their 2020/2021 season. Since then, Rebecca has performed roles such as Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Pas de Trois in Swan Lake, Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, and many works by Director and Resident Choreographer, Lydia Roberts Coco.
Rebecca is thrilled for the new season, and to continue learning and growing further into her artistry!
