Nutcracker School Performances Wed., Dec 14 – Fri., Dec 16

Ballet Virginia International presents the Nutcracker ballet to school age students at 10:00 am Wednesday December 14, Thursday December 15 and Friday December 16, 2016.  Interested school groups and homeschoolers (group must be 10 or more) who are interested in making a reservation should call 757-446-1401.

Nutcracker Ballet School Show Frequently Asked Questions:

How long is the performance? Ballet Virginia International’s Nutcracker is 2 hours long with a brief 15 minute intermission – teachers and students can expect to be boarding the bus approximately 12:00 noon.

What time should we arrive? All guests should arrive no later than 9:30 am.  Check-in will begin as early as 9:00 am but NO one will be seated until 20 min prior to performance time.  The performance will begin promptly at 10:00 am.

Where do the buses park/drop off/pick up? All buses are to arrive and drop off on Bank Street parallel to the Sandler Center Theatre.  Bank Street is located to the right of the box office, if one is facing the front of the Sandler Center.  The Sandler Center shuts down Bank Street for safety of all guests.  There will be volunteers helping to guide and walk children safely to the theatre.  Buses will remain on Bank Street during the entire performance and children along with teachers will board the buses to go home at the same place they dropped off. For personal vehicle parking please use the free-of-charge parking garage across from the theatre that has an entrance on Market Street between Commerce Street and Columbus Street.  Sandler Center Theatre address for GPS reference is 201 Market Street Virginia Beach, VA 23462.

Do we receive tickets for the performance? No, your group will not receive paper tickets.  The reservation you make is your “ticket”.  We have a master listing of all the reservations and use a seating chart to fill the theatre.  Ushers are present the day of the performance to assist with seating and trips to the restroom.

Are SOL Packets available for teachers?  Ballet Virginia International will have an electronic SOL packet available for teachers one month prior to performance date.  This packet will be emailed to the contact person making the reservations and will also be available on the Ballet Virginia website the middle of November, 2016.
