How Can We Help?
Assessing Pointe Shoe Wear
When you are ready for your next pair of pointe shoes, take your old pair back to the store so that the fitter can assess how your shoes are being worn at the box. The fitter will be able to tell from the wear of your pointe shoe box whether you have been able to get up correctly over the box. An adjustment in shoe model, brand, or type of shank may be recommended if not. You may also find that it may take several tries dancing in different brands and models of pointe shoes for the first year or so to find the shoe type that works for you over the longer term. Keep in mind that your foot will continue to grow and change shape. This is why it is important to go to the store and receive a fitting each time until your growth has stabilized.
