Thousands of Hampton Roads students have been exposed to classical ballet with Ballet Virginia’s “The Nutcracker” student matinees. These performances allow us to share our passion and artistry while helping to create a strong community for all of our children to flourish in. See the magical snow as it transforms Clara and her beloved Nutcracker into a beautiful princess and a handsome prince. Waltzing flowers, delightful fairies and tiny mice will spark the imagination and bring holiday cheer. An SOL teacher guide is available to further enrich the experience. Easy bus loading, comfortable seating and a modern facility make this an enriching and trouble-free experience.

Nutcracker Student Matinee Guidelines:
>Any public, private, preschool, daycare or home school group of 10 or more qualify for student matinee reservations
>In order for a school to receive one free chaperone, reservation must include at least ten paid students (20 paid students receives 2 free chaperones, 30 paid students receives 3 free chaperones, etc). Each additional adult or chaperone is $20.
>Ballet Virginia will only correspond with one representative from each group for; taking reservation, securing payment and making changes to the reservation.
>A 50% deposit is due upon receipt of the emailed invoice, to hold seating. A reservation is not secure (another words seats are not held) until the 50% deposit is received.
>Ten days prior to performance date final numbers are due and final payment is due seven days prior.
>Groups have ten days prior to performance to adjust the reservation. After ten days prior to performance all reservations and invoices are final.

What time should we arrive?
Check-in begins at 9:00 am. All guests should arrive by 9:30 am. Seating begins at 9:30 am. The performance will begin at 10:00 am.
How long is the performance?
Ballet Virginia’s Nutcracker is two hours long with a brief intermission. Teachers and students can expect to board buses around Noon.
Where do the buses park/drop off/pick up?
Buses must arrive and drop off on Bank Street parallel to the Sandler Center Theatre. Bank Street is located to the right of the box office, if one is facing the front of the Sandler Center. The Sandler Center shuts down Bank Street for safety of all guests. The Sandler staff helping to guide and walk children safely to the theatre. Buses will remain on Bank Street during the entire performance and therefore children and teachers will board the buses to go home at the same place they dropped off. For personal vehicle parking please use the free parking garage across from the theatre that has an entrance on Market Street between Commerce Street and Columbus Street. Sandler Center Theatre address is 201 Market Street Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
