Ballet Virginia offers student matinees for our spring “Coppelia” performances along with the ever-popular student holiday matinees of “The Nutcracker”. In December, the magical snow, waltzing flowers, delightful fairies, and tiny mice will spark the imagination and bring holiday cheer. In March, join the cast of “Coppelia” for a fun, comical adventure.
Easy bus loading, comfortable seating plus a modern facility make this an enriching and trouble-free experience.

Pricing per show: 18 and under $15* / Adults $33
- One adult free with every 10 students
- Groups must be 10+ to qualify
- Groups must have 10 or more K through 12 students

- Any public, private, or home school group of ten or more Kindergarten through grade 12 students qualifies for student matinee reservations
- For a school to receive a free adult seat, the reservation must include at least ten paid students (20 paid students receive two free adults, 30 paid students receive three free adults, etc). Each additional adult is $33.
- Ballet Virginia will only correspond with one representative from each group for reservation, securing payment, and making changes to the reservation.
- A 50% deposit is due upon receipt of the emailed invoice, to hold seating. A reservation is not secure until the 50% deposit is received.
- Two weeks prior to the performance date final numbers and final payment are due.
- The venue has a fixed number of seats. Please note that any increase in numbers after the contract is accepted may only be made if space is available and is not guaranteed.
- Large groups are encouraged to submit contracts early to secure seating.
- No refunds will be issued after the final payment is received.
- Your emailed contract will have further instructions and details.
How long is the performance?
Ballet Virginia’s Nutcracker is about two hours long with a brief intermission. Teachers and students can expect to board buses around 12:45 PM. Concessions are not available during the show and no accommodations for lunch can be made in the theater.
Where do the buses park/drop off/pick up?
Buses must arrive and drop off on Bank Street parallel to the Sandler Center Theatre. Bank Street is located to the right of the box office, if one is facing the front of the Sandler Center. The Sandler Center closes Bank Street for the safety of all guests. The Sandler staff will guide and walk children safely to the theatre. Buses will remain on Bank Street during the entire performance so children and teachers can board the buses to go home at the same place they were dropped off. For personal vehicle parking please use the free parking garage across from the theatre with an entrance on Market Street between Commerce Street and Columbus Street. The Sandler Center address is 201 Market Street in Virginia Beach.
