meet a pro dancer

I am so excited that Jacquelyn (Long) is coming to visit.  The really cool thing about this visit is that she will  be at BVI on Sat. Nov 2 for a meet and greet with all interested dancers and parents.  Jacquelyn was featured in Oct/Nov issue of Pointe Magazine and will be autographing copies for anyone interested.  $20 for the magazine and personal autograph, $10 if you already have your own copy.  Proceeds will go to our Theater account for new costumes or sets, or to hire dancers for Nutcracker or 12 Dancing Princesses.

This will be a great opportunity to hear from a working dancer the pros and cons of this profession.  Jacquelyn can also tell dancers what they might expect realistically and let all know it is possible to dance and attend college.

Jacquelyn was one of “my girls” beginning at age 10 and it was so fun to watch her grow and reach her goals.  It was a pleasure to have a hand in her training and she made teaching her very easy.  My son was her 1st partner in the Nutcracker when she was Clara, and my boy was Fritz.  What’s that song—Sunrise sunset?
