Although we are officially “closed” this week, we have reduced office hours for registration and are also rehearsing “the Ninja Nine” for our Atlanta SERBA evaluation trip. Never a dull moment in Ballet Land…
I have to laugh at the irony every time I remember how I started dancing. I was around 4 yrs old and those of you that are mature enough may remember the “Excedrin Headache #whatever” commercials. There was one that showed little girls in tutus onstage and their dance teacher in the audience with a headache asking for Excedrin…I told my mom that I “want to do that” Being the youngest of 7, my mom had to wait until my 9th birthday to afford lessons. At that time I focused on the stage and the tutus, never realizing that I would grow up to often need Excedrin!
I must say it was and still is as wonderful as it seemed it could be at 4 yrs old. Crazy and emotional and plain exhausting, but wonderful.
So now I watch the young ones come in to register and can only hope we will once again be able to give each and everyone of them a wonderful experience and life time memories. As for all the moms and dads out there making it happen for their little dreamers, thank you for trusting our phenomenal faculty at BVI!
